Anadolu Cam, situated in Mersin on the south-east coast of the Turkish Riviera, is one of the important glass packaging production plants within Sisecam. For over two years now they have implemented XPAR Vision’s IR-D system for Hot End Inspection and Process Monitoring.
After solving some technical problems related to extreme climate conditions, the Production Management and Hot End department worked together with XPAR Vision’s consultants on a customized implementation program. The ongoing objective of this program is to embed the usage of the IR-D as an indispensable part of the forming process in the Hot End and thus make continuous improvements.
Mr. Tahsin Vurgun, Production Manager has this to say: “with the assistance of XPAR Vision’s consultant we have been very successful in training our people. We have improved our efficiency by almost 1%, by determining problems at the hot end and taking corrective measures within a short time period. The number of the pallets that need to be re-sorted at the cold end has fallen drastically. This is our best indicator that we have better control over our forming process.” Especially in the hard economic conditions, the world is in need of greater efficiencies and a reduced cost of production. Mr. Vurgun again: “This is where XPAR Vision is very valuable”.
